OCZ Vertex 2 and Onyx Series 1.8-inch Solid State Drives
OCZ Technology released two new 1.8-inch solid state drives (SSD), the Vertex 2 and the Onyx. Pack in a lightweight alloy case, both SSD feature MLC NAND flash memory, SATA II interface and 64MB memory. The Vertex 2 excellent performance is boost by SandForce controller, up to 285MB/s read speed, 275MB/s write speed, and 4KB random writes up to 50,000 IOPS.
The Onyx series comes with up to 145MB/s read and 120MB/s write speeds. There are three optional capacities for Vertex 2: 60GB ($243.99), 120GB ($476.99) and 240GB ($897.99), while the Onyx offers two capacities i.e. 32GB ($107.99) and 64GB ($198.99). Those models are available at Amazon.
