
In harmony with its GreenHeart commitment, Sony Ericsson released the Cedar entry-level 3G phone, an eco-friendly phone that features recycled plastics, a low power consumption charger, an e-manual, waterborne paint and compact packaging. This budget friendly phone features a 2.2-inch display, a 2 Megapixel camera with VGA video recording, FM radio, Bluetooth, 3.5mm jack, and many interesting applications, such as facebook, twitter, myspace and YouTube streaming. Available in Black/Silver, Black/Red, Pink, Purple, Red, Silver, White and Yellow colors, the Cedar offers a wide range of connection: quad-band GSM/EDGE and UMTS HSDPA 2100 or MTS HSDPA 850/1900/2100 networks. The Cedar will be available in the third quarter.

Sonim launched the new XP3 Sentinel. It features a 176×220 display, a 2 Megapixel camera with flash, an integrated GPS receiver with SiRF InstantFix, FM radio, LED torch light, Bluetooth Man Down sensor and a microSD card slot. This ultra rugged mobile phone is specifically designed to ensure worker’s safety in an isolated or hazardous environment. To support that function, the XP3 comes with Sonim Lone Worker application that uses tri-band GSM/EDGE networks; red emergency button to send a GPS signal and call the Emergency Response Center even when the phone is locked; an amber button to request monitoring and tracking; and a green button to track the start and the end of a shift. Aimed to be used in a hazardous environment, Sonim uses an anti-shock and anti-scratch Gorilla glass for its screen and moulds hardened rubber through dual injection process to its case. The XP3 also waterproof and resistant to salt, fog, humidity, transport shock and thermal shock.

Samsung built the Galaxy S Pro. Designed for Sprint 4G network, this smartphone is powered by 1GHz processor with 512MB ROM and RAM, and runs Android 2.1 with TouchWiz 3.0. The first full touch Walkman phone from Sony Ericsson, the Yendo, not only offers music, but also communication and social networking, all-in-once. The Yendo features a 2.6-inch 320×240 touchscreen display, a 2 Megapixel camera, Bluetooth, 3.5mm audio jack, and is pre-loaded with three social networking: facebook, orkut and twitter. The latest model of the Xperia Android smartphones series, the Xperia X8, will be released by Sony Ericsson in the third quarter of 2010. This smartphone features a 3-inch 320×480 capacitive touchscreen, a 3.2 Megapixel camera with video recording, a GPS support, Bluetooth, WiFi, microSD slot, and Sony Ericsson’s music player, PlayNow and TrackID technologies. The Xperia X8 also supports GSM GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900, UMTS HSPA 900/2100 or UMTS HSPA 800/850/1900/2100. The Xperia X8 has a typical Xperia design and offers five optional colors: White, Dark Blue/White, Aqua Blue/White, Pink/White, Silver/White. This Android phone also possesses a four-corner buttons for one-hand operation and Timescape or easy access to all your social networking, just as the X10 mini’s UI. Sony also announces that other Xperia model will get Android 2.1 update in the third quarter.
