The latest model of the Xperia Android smartphones series, the Xperia X8, will be released by Sony Ericsson in the third quarter of 2010. This smartphone features a 3-inch 320×480 capacitive touchscreen, a 3.2 Megapixel camera with video recording, a GPS support, Bluetooth, WiFi, microSD slot, and Sony Ericsson’s music player, PlayNow and TrackID technologies. The Xperia X8 also supports GSM GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900, UMTS HSPA 900/2100 or UMTS HSPA 800/850/1900/2100. The Xperia X8 has a typical Xperia design and offers five optional colors: White, Dark Blue/White, Aqua Blue/White, Pink/White, Silver/White. This Android phone also possesses a four-corner buttons for one-hand operation and Timescape or easy access to all your social networking, just as the X10 mini’s UI. Sony also announces that other Xperia model will get Android 2.1 update in the third quarter.

Samsung will release the Captivate for US market in the next month. The Captivate is a new-version of AT&T’s Galaxy S smartphone. This smartphone runs Android 2.1 with TouchWiz UI and is boost by 1GHz Hummingbird processor. It features a 4-inch large capacitive Super AMOLED touchscreen, a 5 Megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording, 16GB internal storage, 3D graphics engine, six-axis motion sensor, Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi 802.11n, and quad-band GSM, tri-band HSPA 7.2Mbps network. Just as Galaxy S, the Captivate also comes with AT&T Navigator -a voice-guided and visual turn-by-turn GPS, and Samsung’s Social Hub and Media Hub features.

NEC Unveiled the Life Touch Android Tablet

NEC will release the Life Touch, its new Android tablet, in Japan this October. The Life Touch is powered by ARM Cortex A8 processor with a 256MB of RAM. This 7-inch tablet comes with a 3 Megapixel camera, GPS, SD/SDHC card slot, built-in stereo speaker, accelerometer, Bluetooth 2.1, and WiFi 802.11b/g connectivity.

TCL released the TouchLife Android tablet in China. The tablet runs Android OS with extra unique platform which is suitable for educational purposes starting from kids to elderly. Powered by the 600Mhz RK2808A chip, the TouchLife provides a 5-inch 800×480 LED-backlit touchscreen with WiFi connectivity and Flash playback, and it also supports many media formats: RM/RMVB, AVI, MP4, H.264, XviD.
